Steve Reich

August 21, 1954 — September 3, 2017

Steve has made his entry into the glorious presence of our Lord after 2 years of battling cancer. Steve was born in Bakersfield and grew up as on only child. Steve lived his life by strong principals, was fun loving and generous. Steve had integrity and a strong work ethic. He was hired as a chain hand for Montgomery Drilling then went into welding and was sought after by many due to his expertise, problem solving and fabrication abilities. He worked with Ken Small, ARB Construction and Gene Watson Construction among others. He worked as a welder for another 30 years. He was well known for his custom rod iron fence work and loved to build things for everybody. He also enjoyed camping, fly fishing, hunting and tinkering with hot rods. Most of all Steve loved dogs of all kinds, especially his loyal companion Liz who he loved dearly. Steve was also a loyal friend that would help you at any time. He was an avid gardener, loved to read and was extremely knowledgeable on many topics. He had great taste in music and enjoyed a collection that would rival the best. He was a marital arts expert and held a brown belt in Shotokan Karate. His legacy will be remembered forever.
