Steve Churchwell passed away on June 7th, following a long battle with cancer. Steve was born on April 15, 1955, and graduated from North High School in 1973.
Steve is proceeded in death by his brother, Chuck, his dad, Clyde, his brother in law, Carl Smith, and lifelong friends, Keith Stafford and Gary Manning.
Steve is survived by his loving Mother, Willadene Churchwell, daughters, Tara and husband Mike Cummings, and her step children, Kari and husband, Ryan Blake, his sisters, Pat Smith and Carol Townsend (Stuart) and his pride and joy, grandsons, Sean & Cale Jones. Along with many close friends and family. Steve had some wonderful, lifelong friends, that were with him until the end.
We want to especially thank Fred Berger and his wife and Ronnie and Karla Cope for all their help. Thank you for being there for our Dad until the end!
Steve loved his Mom so much. They had such a very special relationship, like no other. Although she will miss him so much, she's thankful he's no longer in pain.
Steve loved camping and fishing. We have so many wonderful memories in Kernville. He loved his daughters and always told us how proud of us he was. He loved watching Sean play football, he always came to the games with snacks in hand for Cale. Of course, everyone that saw his wallet photos of the boys, heard how he had the best looking grandsons! He was very proud of those boys! He started to rebuild uncle Carl's Honda with Sean, until he was too ill to finish. With all of Papa's tools, Sean will finish it! Cale and Papa had a very special relationship, too. Cale also has his papa's beautiful eyes. It didn't matter what activity they were doing, how hot or cold it was, he was there to cheer them on! They both loved hanging out with their Papa. Holidays won't be the same without Steve helping in the kitchen or on the grill!
We will miss you, Dad! Hug our Mom from her girls, and her grand babies. Also, give Keith a hug from his girls and his grand babies!
