Taija Marie Michaele Landers was a beautiful young girl that was taken from us way too early in life. She was a free spirit who did things her way and was not afraid to tell people how she felt. Taija was born May 2, 2003 to Alan Landers and Aloquese Vaughn and left this world to be with the Lord on November 15, 2016.
After Taija's birth she was pretty much spoiled from day one. All she had to do was give you that look and say your name and she got whatever she wanted. This was always the case when it came to Papa. Taija loved her music and was usually seen with her ear phones on and here MP3 player in her hand. If not listening to music she could be found in her room buried in a book or writing something at her desk. Taija was also a person who loved quotes and had several of them hanging on her bedroom wall. Her favorite was:
"Life is too short to be normal. Stay weird."
Taija was beautiful inside and out and always brought a smile to people just by entering the room. She loved all of her family and enjoyed her time with all of them. She had many friends and touched the lives of so many people that it makes no since why God chose to take her so early. I'm sure he has a good reason for taking her even though most of us are selfish and wish she was still here with us.
Taija's family is very large and it's hard to name them all. Taija leaves behind her dad and mom Alan Landers and Aloquese Vaughn; brothers Keondre Vaughn and Corey Landers of Bakersfield; grandparents John "Papa" and Rhonda "Grandma" Huskey of Bakersfield; grandparents Aaron "Poppi" and Michaele "Mimi" Latham, of Tucson; uncle's Michael Duckworth, Keith Landers, and Gage Huskey of Bakersfield; aunts Cassandra Duckworth, Molly Landers, Jennifer Landers and Angie Orozco of Bakersfield; and too many cousins to list.
Services will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles St.) on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11:00 am.
