Toribio Garza Jr. 2/25/1957-12/26/2021 Toribio Garza Jr., aged 64, passed away on December 26, 2021 at Sierra View Medical Center in Porterville, California. He was born February 25, 1957 in Tamaulipas, Mexico to Toribio and Eufemia Garza. Toribio Garza Jr. grew up in Colusa, California. He graduated from Colusa High School in January of 1975 in Colusa, California. After he completed high school, he then went on to study in the Automotive Industry at the Arizona Automotive Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. He completed his certification one year later and then went on to work in this Industry. He was hired on with Occidental Petroleum Corporation (Oxy) where he worked as an Automotive Mechanic in his early years that later led him to work as a Field Production Operator for a combined time of 26 years. Toribio was married to Mary Robledo in June of 1979 in Colusa, California. They were married for 23 years. During that time, they had four children: Daniel, Mark, Diana, and Adrian. Toribio enjoyed driving his 1965 Ford F100. He loved traveling to the mountains, and to the beach and visiting family from all over. His main hobby was antique shopping as well as eating out at restaurants. He loved his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He also had a special bond with his dog Ranger. Toribio Garza Jr. is survived by his ex-wife Mary Garza of Shafter, California; his sons: Daniel Garza, Mark Garza and Adrian Garza, and daughter Diana Garza of Shafter, California; his granddaughters: Katelyn, Madilyn, and Brianna Garza; his mother: Eufemia Garza; and two siblings: brother Eli Garza and sister Martha Alcaraz; along with several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Toribio Garza Jr. was preceded in death by his father: Toribio Garza Sr. Funeral services will be held at Basham & Lara Funeral Care, located at 343 State Ave. in Shafter, California. A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 13th from 5-9 pm. Formal services will be held Friday, January 14, at 12 noon. Burial services will follow the formal service at the Shafter Cemetery.
