Veronica "Ronnie" Lorraine Zaccaria

Veronica Lorraine Zaccaria July 18, 1945 - February 15, 2021

Veronica Lorraine (Bell) Zaccaria was born on July 18, 1945 to Carl and Sarah Bell in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Ronnie passed away peacefully into Heaven on February 15, 2021. Ronnie grew up in Price, Utah the eldest of eight children and spent much of her free time reading. After school she met her close friend Lena who together shared many adventures. Ronnie met Lena's brother Jake after he returned from the Army and quickly they began dating. After several years together, they got married and moved to Reedley, CA to pursue Jake's career. Family was a constant love and focus for Ronnie and they were blessed to expand their home to welcome two daughters, Elizabeth and Christen and later two sons David and Marc. After living in Reedly for several years, they relocated to Bakersfield, CA where she lived the duration of her life. When her children got older she went back to school to get her teacher's credential and spent 17 years teaching the third grade at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School. She loved her students and was a devoted Catholic her entire life. After retiring from teaching she opened a children's clothing store, the Peter Pan Shop, which she took great pride in making her customers happy. Ronnie always said her greatest joy was family especially her several grandchildren who always loved spending holidays cooking with her, hearing her stories and she never missed one of their many activities. Ronnie is survived by her husband, Jake. Siblings: Carl (Cleo), Monica, Theresa, Cindy. Children: Elizabeth, Christen (Fernando), David, Marc (Megan). Grandchildren: Jocelyn, Janelle, Desiree and Jackson. Great-Grandchild: Jacob. And many other family members who were dear to her. Ronnie is predeceased by her parents, siblings: Sadie, Bernadette, Mary, and grandson Benjamin. Visitation Monday, February 22nd from 5-6pm with rosary at 6pm at Basham & Lara Funeral Care (Shafter, CA). Mass Tuesday, February 23rd at 1:30pm at Christ the King Catholic Church.
