The sun rose in Houston, Texas on August 8, 1982, and into this world was born to Fred and Nellie Lyles God’s gift of an adorable baby girl who as given the name Jakaty Shavon Lyles known to some “Mokka”. Jakaty’s parents relocated to Bakersfield, Ca. from Texas. This is where Jakaty grew up to be a vibrant, spicy, delightful, outspoken young woman. She had an upbeat personality. No one was a stranger to her. She was fun loving and enjoyed living her life to the fullest as each day presented itself. Jakaty attended William Penn elementary, Compton Jr. High, and West High School. She was very active in the school choir and track. At a young age Jakaty met and married Orlin Hall Sr. Jakaty was a member of Mountain Top Praise under the leadership of her Father Elder Fred Lyles. She got great joy out of playing the tambourine. She didn’t play it often, but when she did, she gave it all she had, and then passed it on to someone else. One of Jakatey’s favorite songs was “Endow Me” by Coko. She was also a a good dancer, she would often say “Aye Get It” while dancing, enjoying herself and having fun, smiling, yelling at the Crack of Dawn get your life together “Shot A Clock” Jakaty moved to Reno, Nevada in January of this year. She was employed at WC Health where she worked as a patient care tech. Jakaty was not shy when it came to meeting new people and making new friends. With her big smile she touched the lives of everyone she met. On October 9, 2022, Jakaty left this earthly home to join those who preceded her in death, her Mother Nellie Lyles, Grandparents Fred Lyles Sr. and Lillian Lyles. Rev. U.L. Mc Pherson and Viola Mc Pherson. Her Aunt Cheryl Lyles and her Uncle Joseph Anderson. Jakaty leaves behind to cherish her memories and celebrate her home going Husband Orlin Hall Sr. of Tempe Arizona, two Sons Orlin Hall Jr. of Las, Vegas, NV. Rasheed Freeman of Los Angeles, CA. two God-children; Lillian Aspinwall and Kevin Gross. Her Father Fred Lyles Jr. (Linda), Shantell Lyles (Armid), Sereptor Johnson (Freddie) of Bakersfield, CA. Deidra Aspinwall (Joseph) of Reno, NV. Tamara Richardson-Jefferson of Atlanta, GA. Melvinetta Mode of Rowlette, TX. One Brother Fred Lyles of Bakersfield, CA. Three Aunts Euella Mc Pherson Elder of Houston, TX. Lula Matthews of Bakersfield, CA. Martha Anderson of Los Angeles, CA. Three Uncles U.L. Mc Pgerson (Virginia) of Abilene, TX. John Frank Mc Pherson of Austin, TX. Earnest Lyles Sr. of Bakersfield, CA. Special niece Jameshia Flowers. Special Cousins Shrhonda Matthews of Bakersfield, CA. Yvonne Matthews of Lawrenceville, GA. Along with a host of Nieces, Nephews, cousins, and friends. Jakaty’s big smile, kindness and generosity of spirit will be remembered by all those she touched during her lifetime. She was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
